Oxford University Press and Social Learning Platform Edmodo Partner to Enhance Pupil Learning

In today's technologically advanced learning environment, there are a plethora of tools and digital content resources available for educator and pupil consumption. Oxford University Press, a department of the University of Oxford, and Edmodo, the world's leading primary and secondary social learning platform, today announced a partnership to integrate educational content into the Edmodo platform with the aim to improve learning outcomes.

Now available on Edmodo, Oxford's world best-seller, the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary (OALD) is indexed so word searches are auto-populated with corresponding definitions. A new addition to Edmodo, teachers and pupils can work more effectively to improve their vocabulary and expand their knowledge base, along with more than 100 million people who have used the OALD in one of its various formats to improve their teaching and learning of English.

"Access to high-caliber educational materials is crucial for pupils' learning and future success," said Peter Marshall, Managing Director, English Language Teaching Division at Oxford University Press. "Using the OALD, they will gain a better understanding of language and will develop the rich vocabulary they need to become effective communicators. We're excited to work with Edmodo on this initiative and upcoming content implementations that will extend the reach of our educational materials to more teachers and pupils around the world."

"Content discovery is an integral part of our platform and an area where we see tremendous opportunity for growth and engagement," said Andreas Quandt, Vice President of Product at Edmodo. "Our focus is empowering teachers with tools that will help them advance learning, such as the OALD. We look forward to further collaboration on content that drives impactful learning."
