Alleima has won the Best Component Award at Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) 2024 for compressor valve steel Freeflex® Core. This award recognizes components and materials that make outstanding contributions to the overall performance of products.
The latest compressor valve steel, Freeflex® Core, from Alleima withstands stricter operating conditions and offers higher energy efficiency, which can contribute to significant CO₂ savings worldwide.

Awards recognize products or solutions that have made outstanding contributions and significant impacts in various aspects such as industry technology trends, product innovation, consumer guidance, energy conservation and environmental protection".
In 2012-2022, the energy efficiency of cooling systems was improved by about 18% using new valve materials and improved design, strength, and mechanical properties. This is equivalent to the output of five modern nuclear power plants (50 TWh) and provides CO₂ savings of over 21 million tons.
Freeflex® Core was launched in 2021 and is a compressor valve steel optimized for air conditioning units, and can also be used in heat pumps, refrigerators or almost any type of compressor. The compressor valve steel has enhanced fatigue properties, developed to be exposed to tougher operational conditions that are critical for designing more energy efficient compressors.
“Freeflex generally has better wear resistance, better bending fatigue, and better impact fatigue resistance, which means that it lasts longer and is particularly suitable for AC requirements likelow noise level,” says Guofan Zhang, Senior Application Specialist.
